Austin Foodie Bits ~ Food & Wine Things to Do, September 20 Edition
Greetings from lovely Chicago! I’m out and about this week at a social media conference and am enjoying learning about ways to do more on the social web for my clients and for my own blog. It’s great fun but it’s put me just a little behind in getting my posts out. Add to it that Austin has exploded with food events in September and you get a very long but slightly delayed post. I hope the wait has been worth it. Before I jump into this week’s events, here are a couple of quick reminders about multi-day events going on around town right now:
- Austin Restaurant Week is in full swing. The first week end this Wednesday, September 22, and the next starts on Sunday, September 26 and runs through the 29th. The folks at Austin Restaurant Week have been giving away gift cards on twitter, so you might follow them there if you’re so inclined.
- Central Market’s Brewtopia is a celebration of all things beer from September 22 to October 5. The event will feature meet-and-greets with brewmasters from around the country, tastings, lessons on pairing beer with food as well as cooking with beer, and more. Be sure to check out all of the tastings and dinners at the cooking school for plenty of opportunities to deep dive the offerings of a specific brewery.
